Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: BWA is a fee-for-service clinic, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. This model allows us to deliver highly individualized, results-focused care without the limitations that often come with insurance-based treatment.

Some insurance plans look more favorably on services that are medically recommended, so having a referral or prescription from your provider may increase the likelihood of reimbursement. That said, coverage always depends on your individual plan.

We provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Many of our clients are able to use HSA/FSA funds as well for payment.

Q: What is the difference between LMT and PNMT appointment prices?

A: The difference between LMT and PNMT appointment prices is based on the massage therapist’s credentials. All BWA massage therapists are Illinois state licensed, attending hands-on seminars and are working to become Precision Neuromuscular Therapy certified. PNMT means the massage therapists have completed the requirements for certification.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the session charge.

Q: Can I book a massage for my son/daughter (ages 0-17)?

A: Yes. We have seen clients as young as 12 weeks old to 17 years old. Informed written consent must be provided by a parent/legal guardian for any client under the age of 18. Parents/legal guardians must remain in the treatment room with anyone under the age of 18 unless express consent is given by all parties.

Q: Do you offer couples massages?

A: We do not have a room dedicated to couples massages. We can offer that we book you and your partner at the same day and time. However, these would be held in different rooms.

Q: Do you offer hot stone massage (or other spa services)?

A: No. BodyWork Associates offers targeted therapeutic techniques for issues like back pain, neck tension, and repetitive strain — focusing on function and long-term relief.
